Transfers & Car Hire
Car Hire
We would generally recommend you hiring a car from the Swiss side. The rentals are in the airport and when you hire a car it will come with the local road tax labels and typically the extras like winter tyres and snow chains are included as standard. Returning is also easier to find. Swiss law doesn’t require you to carry a roadside breathalyser kit which by law you should hold. (you can buy one if you are concerned from the AA/Amazon). Hiring from the French side is cheaper but you will have these add-ons and the road tax is circa CHF40. Car Rental companies include SIXT & Europecar plus Hertz
Transfers
You can transfer via coach to Tangnines and or train to Cluse and then a short tax up the mountain or a local bus service. Alternatively, there is local transfer company that services the local area and has good rates and very reliable.
